    Are you trying to set up a self storage podcast?  Are you trying to figure out which audience to appeal to?  Do you want to make sure that you are not boring your audience too much as you run through your content, and that you are not appealing to a very, very small demographic?  If this is the case, then you are going to want to do a little bit more research before you set out to record your first show.  Fortunately, though, you are going to find that it is not going to be all that hard for you to put some amazing content together.

    The first thing that you are going to want to keep in mind, here, is that you are not going to want to restrict your demographic too much.  Indeed, the last thing that you are going to want to do is limit your audience right from the get go.  As you are choosing your topics, bear in mind that you are not only going to be speaking to industry professionals, property managers, and the like.  You are also going to be speaking to everyday self storage customers who want to learn a little bit more about the industry.  Thus, when you pick your topics, be sure that you are not being too esoteric.  You can talk about the ins and outs of the industry, but do not assume that everyone in your audience is going to be as familiar with them as you are.  When explanations are needed, provide them.  When you have to clarify a term or something like that, be sure that you do.  This will help you broaden your appeal.

    Second of all, you are going to want to be sure that you are not too bashful when it comes down to sharing a little bit of humor with your audience.  When it is appropriate, feel free to share a few jokes with your audience.  If you can see the humor in a situation, feel free to talk about it.  The last thing that you are going to want to do is come across as way too serious.  Ultimately, that is not going to help your cause.  When someone tunes into a self storage podcast, they want to be able to laugh a little bit, and they want to be able to enjoy themselves.  Even if they are tuning in to do some research, they are still going to appreciate a good laugh.  And really, at the end of the, sharing a few laughs with your audience is really, really going to keep them coming back for more.

    Finally, here, you are going to want to be sure that you have a way for listeners to contribute some feedback to your show.  The most boring podcasts are the ones that do not even make an attempt at responding to the questions of their listeners.  There is always something that feels like its missing when it comes to these podcasts.  Generally speaking, you are going to want to be sure that you are devoting a few minutes of your show to answering listener questions.

    As you can see, it is not going to be all that hard for you to start your very own self storage podcast.  Just remember, here, that you are going to want to run your podcast just like any other radio show.  While you are going to want to be sure that you are informative, you are also going to want to be sure that you are actually entertaining your listeners.  That, you should know, is the sign of a truly successful podcast.
