Seasons Change, but Storage Remains the SameBy jeff on March 14, 2011 | No Comments
Seasons come and seasons go. Each season comes with activities that are usually unique for those months of the year. These seasonal items can begin to overtake your house however if you are not careful. Here are a few examples of seasonal items and how having a Six Points, Ontario self storage unit can help you save space in your home.
Summer: Summer sun and days spent outside enjoying the warm kiss of its rays can be great. Summer time bring memories of swimming, jet skiing on the lake, floating on a raft down a lazy river, or sitting out on the back deck with the smell of barbeque cooking and an umbrella in your drink. While these summer time activities all take place outside, eventually the temperature begins to drop and fall approaches and you huddle inside taking it all with you. Instead of moving your jet ski and barbeque grill inside to your garage and moving your car to the street where it will be buried in snow, why not rent a Six Points self storage unit to make your summer time fun storage solution? Your self storage unit can hold all of your rafts, pool supplies, and summer time fun stuff for you until the cold months of the year have passed and it is once again time to be enjoying life outside.
Fall: Fall can be some of the prettiest times of year. The outside world changes from a green view into a kaleidoscope of colors. Some of the best things to do in the fall include taking a drive in your car with a loved one and just enjoying all of the colors that mother nature has provided. While those trees are beautiful to look at it will eventually seek to change the view for you by dumping all of those leaves that you had previously enjoyed onto your yard. When this happens people all over will be bringing out their leaf blowers and rakes to clean up their yard. Especially for homes that are short on storage space these items may be small, but if you already have a storage problem it can just add to the problem. With a Six Points storage unit however, you will not only have the storage for these items but any other items that you need storage for as well.
Winter: While some people hate the snow and the cold that leaves them chilled, others love the enjoyment that can only be had with a hill covered in snow. Snow mobiles, snow skies, and sleds will all be brought out with the first hint of a snowfall. Not to mention the myriad of holidays that there are to celebrate during the winter months that bring boxes of decorations. They can all culminate in your home being over taken by seasonal items. With a Six Points storage solution however you can save the spaces in your home.
Spring: Spring cleaning is a task that few look forward to, but that many people embark on. Getting your house clean and clutter free can leave you with boxes of items that you need to find a place to store. Having a self storage unit can give you the solution that you seek.
As you can see having a Six Points self storage unit can help you solve your storage needs all year long.

Tackle Spring Cleaning with the Help of Self StorageBy jeff on February 18, 2011 | No Comments
Spring cleaning was under way and Sarah quickly realized that their family simply did not have enough space for everyone and their stuff. With five children in the house and between taking kids to sports practices and music lessons and trying to find a few minutes each day for herself it was difficult to keep everything organized. As she was doing spring cleaning she realized that with a little more extra space keeping the house clean would be much easier.
In between cleaning out the clothes from the kids closet that were too small and organizing toys that the kids no longer played with there was plenty of stuff that she had that was going to be box up. The problem is that last year she boxed up stuff during spring cleaning and those boxes were currently taking over the garage. It was getting hard just to park in there. There was no way that she could add more boxes. She had to find somewhere else to keep them and maybe clear out the ones in the garage as well.
Who knows if they were done having children. They both wanted a huge family and when Sarah and her husband first got married they joked that they were going to have ten children. With the idea of adding kids a possibility she did not want to get rid of any of the boxes in case she had more children. So until that time she decided that her family needed to find a Dunbarton, Ontario self storage unit.
In between baking for the fourth grade bake sale and helping her husband find his car keys on a semi- daily basis Sarah managed to research the different Dunbarton self storage facilities that were in her area. With the help of the internet and a quick drive by a few locations Sarah was able to find the self storage facility that was perfect for her storage needs.
The Dunbarton self storage unit was signed and ready for the boxes to be transported over. Sarah was working on labeling the boxes with clothes size and odds and end labeled clearly. While the kids tried to box up their baby brother she assured them all that no one was going to be able to live in their self storage unit. It was on the list of things not to store right after flammables.
Spring cleaning was a huge undertaking each year but now that she had space at the Dunbarton self storage space it was a bit easier to find space for stuff and now that the kids were getting older they could start to help in the cleaning and organizing process.
When Sarah found out that baby number six was going to be on the way she knew that getting a storage space was the right choice. She had almost everything that she needed whether it was a boy or a girl and since her self storage space was organized by size of clothes and baby toys it was easy for Sarah to find exactly what she needed. It was surprising how easy it was to keep the self storage unit clean and organized without the five kids climbing over the boxes. It only it was this easy to keep her house clean and organized.

Self Storage Makes Long-Term Travel EasierBy jeff on February 18, 2011 | No Comments
Kim loved to travel. When she was little she would read book about far off places and she would plan out her trips about how to get there and what she would do while she was there. Her bedroom was decorated with maps and pictures of the places that she dreamed to go to.
Every year since she graduated from college she would save up her money and pick one place to go to on her vacation. She would go to not only the well known tourist sites of the city but she loved to find those spots that are off the map that only the locals know about. Of course she would come back with a suitcase full of souvenirs from each trip. While she still had the maps that she had when she was growing up most of her decorations were a tribute to all of the great places that she had visited.
She was preparing to go on her tenth trip and she realized as she was packing that she was quickly running out of room for her souvenirs. There was no way that she was not going to be able to get something from the places that she was going to visit. When she got back from her trip she was going to have to think of a solution.
Her trip was one of the best ones that she had ever taken and she found some great things to put in her apartment. The trouble was that she was going to have to take down some of her older decorations in order to do that. Kim was ok with that and she was excited about redecorating her home, but she was going to have to solve her storage space issues.
One of her friends suggested to her that she look into a Don Mills, Ontario self storage solution. Her friend had been renting a self storage solution for years and they loved the extra space that they got for their family. Kim decided to research the Don Mills self storage units and see what kinds of price ranges that she could find. She also wanted something that had some security amenities so that she knew that her stuff would be safe while it was stored in a unit.
It did not take Kim long to find the perfect Don Mills self storage unit for her to get her home more organized and for her to have storage for all of her souvenirs. It was close to her house had the amenities that she was looking for and was at a great price range. Now that she had a self storage solution she began to decide what things she wanted to keep as a part of her eccentric house and what items she would move into her storage unit. It was not easy to decide but in the end she was happy with how the decorations of her home came together.
She had already started to plan her next trip and was working on saving up the money that she would need. It was going to be a great vacation and she had a list of places to explore already prepared that would leave her plenty busy and of course she had to leave time in there for shopping and hunting through the local market places to find the next addition to her decorations.

Keep Your Seasonal Clothing in a Storage UnitBy jeff on January 28, 2011 | No Comments
Regina storage companies in Saskatchewan, Canada are on our mind right now. Our best friend works for a self-storage company that is buying Regina storage facilities and they want us to come with them next week to see the places they bought. It will be an all paid trip so why not? We are going to Saskatchewan. We have learned to say it right now, so we feel we are ready now to rock the house. We have not used our winter clothes in a very long time though; we live in a very warm climate in the United States of America. These best friends of ours were our friends in collage and as freshmen; we all became close in our four or more years together. We got married and they got married. Friends meeting other friends often marry. They are set up on blind dates or see each other around town or on the campus of their university. Our collage was small enough to see most of the same people everyday. In the United States of America, some universities are so big you might see one person one day, but never again. Some of our universities have thirty thousand people going to it. It is like a city within itself.
We looked in our own storage bin and dug out what we thought were winter clothes. None of them fit us. The coats were old and musty and so out of date it would have been funny to try to wear them in public. We did not want to embarrass our best friends, so off to the store we went to buy winter clothes. It was hard to buy winter clothes for our trip to Regina storage in Saskatchewan because there was not much to choose from in our town. We thought we would shop online, than we thought we could wait and buy them all in Regina. They must have stores there. Is it all elk and mountains up there? Is it all snow up there? We want to go snowmobiling. We have no ice skates, but if we have to, we can buy them too. We have not done that in a long time so we might want to practice, wait a minute, where do we practice that.
We will not be practicing ice-skating, so we should look to something else to do while we are up there. How about ice fishing? That sounds cold. Regina storage places we will be visiting we are sure, might be all right to visit if we can avoid freezing to death. Ice fishing, just the words sound cold to us. We have not been in cold weather for a very long time, and our blood has thinned out so much, any kind of cold wind or ice blowing on us, might kill us. Ok. We are bluffing; we will not die in cold weather. We will bundle up like we could never bundle up before. We will be non-movable of course, with two shirts and two coats on. We will need fur, make that fake fur, and enjoy our stay in Regina. We could hunt, we like shooting guns, but that sounds too cold too. We could just stay in side. What is so great about outside anyway?

Conveniently Enjoy a Winter Wonderland with StorageBy jeff on January 27, 2011 | No Comments
Saint Lambert storage places have had a great time recently as more American companies come to Canada to grow their own business. Our company recently has ventured in the Saint Lambert storage business and we are excited. We have heard that Quebec is a great place to live and work, but French is not what most of us speak you know. There are enough English-speaking people there of course, but French is the main language. In the United States of America Spanish is spoken by many people. It is the most popular language to choose as a second language, and most children in school choose that one to try to learn. We have been to many countries around the world, and we have always found people who speak English. Will we find people in a St. Lambert storage place that will speak English? We do not know yet. Our first visit will be in the winter to Quebec and we are planning our trip as we speak. We need warm clothes because we are going outside. We heard there is a giant winter carnival up there with hundreds of things to do. We might try our hand at making art from ice. We might ice skate our problems away and feel the wind in our face. We will not be cold and fight the urge to be cold in any way or form. Once at a football game in New York our friends and I, we were young now, took off our shirts in the second half and yelled and cheered to the cameras. The cameras always show those kinds of people on TV.
We wonder if people in Quebec do the same silly things we do. Saint Lambert storage places are where our attention will be though, not football games, although my favorite team is playing in the playoffs. I may peek if I can. Do American football games come on in Saint Lambert storage offices? I am only kidding of course. Canadian football games come on in the United States of America though. We love football in America. We will watch football games from any country if we can. Football in Canada is a little different though. We have four downs and you guys have three downs. Four downs make for more patience during the game and more strategy we believe, three downs is more hectic and throw, throw throw the ball. Hockey is the same though, and I like hockey very much. How far are we from a hockey game? They might be everywhere.
I can not ice skate though and I will be researching St. Lambert storage places on this trip. I can not break any bones on this trip so there will be no skiing for me. I have never skied anyway, but it sure looks like fun. We will make it to the winter carnival though, and whoop it up there. We can make art from ice and eat a lot. Maybe hot food with hot drinks will keep us from thinking of the cold. The snow is pure in Quebec we hear. We need pure snow. If it is going to snow, anyway the snow should be pure by golly. Do people in Canada say by Golly? Good luck to every one.

Never an Offseason with Self StorageBy jeff on January 26, 2011 | No Comments
Montreal Nord storage spaces must have a whole lot of hockey stuff in the buildings up there. We are sitting here writing about storage places in the storage industry and all these things sneak in your head as you write. We listen to music or watch TV in the background as we write and try to churn out stories about storage places in Montreal storage places. We think hockey sticks are in there in record numbers. Here in the United States we love football and baseball. Baseball is boring to most, but the baseball games have a history to them like no other sport for Americans. They say baseball is the hardest of all sports because you are trying to hit a round baseball that curves and dives and rises, with a flat bat. Science says balls do not rise because of gravity and it is an illusion. It is just not sinking. It is on the same plane as your eyes and it appears to rise because it does not sink. Hockey seems hard too.
Montreal Nord storage places, as we write about them, always make me think of hockey. French too comes up in your head thinking about Quebec. We were in France once and had a good time. Paris is one of the great cities of the world and everyone should check it out. Now we do hear great things about Montreal too. It is just not on everyone’s lips as they say. I know a little about Canada because of hockey. There is a ton of small towns in Canada because the announcers of hockey games call them out. Competition must be out of this world for young kids in Canada trying to play hockey and make it as a pro.
Montreal Nord storage places must have a lot of broken dreams and broken hockey sticks in their storage spaces. There is always that side of all ports, the ones who do not make it. Play for the fun of it though and you will enjoy it better, and parents calm down, pro sports are a shot in a million to make, do not tell your kids they will make it, they might not. It is a big disappointment when as a kid, you think you are the best or even very good, but then you meet others who blow you away with their talent and you realize you are not the best. This happens all the time with kids. The best is hard to be in any sport you choose. Some are born with the skills.
Montreal Nord storage has a lot of broken dreams in their spaces. Do not make it a sad place for your kids to visit. It should bring a smile to their faces, the memories. When we visit our storage space, we have things from our youth too. Some do make us sad. We wanted to be baseball players or alt least this manager. This person was too slow and not quick enough for baseball it seemed. This person is happy, but this person still has dreams of baseball. Oh well, We saw kids so much better than us at baseball we knew it would not happen for us. Montreal Nord storage places have a lot of broken dreams inside those walls.

Keep Your Hockey Gear Secure with a Self Storage UnitBy jeff on January 25, 2011 | No Comments
Belanger storage places have a lot of hockey sticks in their storage spaces we guess. Quebec loves hockey and why not. It is a pretty popular sport all over the world and Canada has always been number one in the passion they feel for hockey. They have had some of the greatest hockey players in the history of hockey, and still are going strong today. Russia used to be the gold standard in the Olympics many years ago, especially in the nineteen eighties when they won a whole lot of medals. The Stanley Cup is regarded as one of the most prestigious trophies to win, and one of the hardest to win too. The playoffs are grueling, and exciting to watch the journey the team must take to get there. They last a month or more and after a long season of more than seventy games played, you might have more than a few tired and beat up hockey players trying to win games. Belanger storage places are probably full of hockey skates in Quebec. Many people in the Unites States of America can ice skate too. We have hockey on TV too but the ratings or the number of people watching a single event, are not as high as in Canada. Football gets the highest ratings of sports in America and NASCAR racing has the most people attending events. A NASCAR event though can hold sometimes one hundred thousand people in the grandstands, a hockey game maybe twenty-two or twenty three thousand. One must take all that in consideration too. Some cities in America will never have any kind of hockey programs, but places like Alaska, and New York, and Chicago have plenty. We grew up in Chicago, and as kids liked hockey very much.
Belanger storage places have more hockey sticks than a storage place in Chicago might, but we owned a few hockey sticks in our lives, and have stored them too. This person had a hockey stick autographed by the great Bobby Hull that said happy birthday Mickey. What a thrill. It broke one day playing hockey with it. It was not even that good and it broke. This person does not know what ever happened to the great hockey stick, but we still love Bobby Hull and the way he played. He was fast and strong, the Golden Jet, if one remembers. They had great players in Chicago a long time ago. It took a long time to win again since than. Chicago has not won many Stanley Cups until last year. We have great players again.
Belanger storage places in Quebec, Canada have a lot of hockey sticks in storage. Hockey sticks are not just wood anymore either, and the new ones cost a lot of money. Ice skates are expensive too as all the equipment when playing hockey. When we were young, we were poor so we would flood the backyard and let it freeze, get our two-dollar plastic sticks out, and try to slide on our shoes. We would crash into each other and fall down. It was a blast. We would slash each other and trip each other and had no penalty box to go in. Now that is hockey my friends. Do it. Go on the ice and play hockey.

For Every Season There is a Storage UnitBy jeff on October 6, 2010 | No Comments
There is one nearly surefire way to determine the general climate of an area. Sure you can consult an almanac or search the internet. You can ask around a few neighbourhoods or even call the local weatherman. However, the easiest way might be to drive down a street or two and look for a home that has its garage door open. If you see bicycles, snowmobiles, beach balls and leaf blowers all in the same place…that garage is probably located in an area that sees all four seasons.
If you’re someone who lives where winter, spring, summer and fall all actually take place, that probably reminded you quite a bit of your own garage. This very moment you might be remembering spraining your ankle climbing over your jet skit to get at your snow shovel. Does going for your first bike ride of the spring involve moving a bucket or two of ice melt? Are you golf clubs being held prisoner by your Christmas tree? Get some order in your life by organizing your home with the help of Don Mills storage.
Renting your own storage unit is an easy and affordable way to bring some order into your home. You’d be amazed at just how much space is taken up in your home and garage by items you only use 3-4 months out of the year. By placing “offseason” items with Don Mills storage, you can reduce clutter in your home and use your space for those items you are using on a daily basis.
Living in a place where a White Christmas is a yearly occurrence probably means you’ve never used your 5 iron and your snow blower on the same day. The same goes for your water skis and your snow skis. So why keep them in the same place? Renting from an Ontario storage company allows you to form a rotation of your seasonal gear. The result? Not only will you be able to more easily access the items you’ll need on a given day, week, month or season, but you’ll have more space in your house overall. That will allow you to move more freely through your home…or maybe have a place to finally keep that golf cart you’ve had your eye on.
With Don Mills storage available in a range of sizes, there is a storage solution out there to fit your needs and your budget. Gated access, well lit lots and 24-hour video surveillance will help make sure your belongings are kept safe and secure.
