Sainte Foy storage places in Quebec, Canada have similar customers to most of us in the storage business.  One customer especially jogs our brains and we think about the past.  He would go into his storage space, or unit, almost everyday, just messing around in it.  One day we saw him pull out a pair of drum sticks and started to tap them on boxes.  We said hello to him and he called us over to talk to him.  Julie said she tried to play drums once, a long time ago, but hurt her knee, and gave it up.  She played in the marching band in school and loved it.  He did too, he said, and the two struck up a conversation.  This manager had to go back to work and left.

Sainte Foy storage places in Quebec might have similar stories, but we do not know.  One day the man brought Julie some drumsticks too and he brought two big buckets made of plastic with lids on the.  We remember seeing pickle buckets like that or giant paint buckets.  He rolled up two chairs and offered Julie a chair and a pair of drum sticks and they both starting tapping away.  This manager went back to work again.  We all thought it looked like fun, and sometimes crowds would gather around them to watch.  They were getting better as the days went on.

One day this person came into the office like an office would look in Sainte Foy storage offices, and he handed a pair of drum sticks too.  This manager thanked him and the drum sticks felt funny in these hands as this manager started to tap them on objects around the office.  The sticks hit books, stacks of contracts, walls, and the office counter.  Pretty soon the computer and especially you tube videos became the teacher and there we were, the drum sticks, these hands, and you tube all jamming away in a room in the back of our house.  Julie joined in the fun and we bought drum pads that we could bounce the stick on, and we improved enough to start thinking of buying a drum set for our very own.  It was exciting to think about it but we thought we might be too old to start to learn drums.  Just because we can tap drum sticks on objects does not mean we can drum to songs.  Well, we went to pawn shops and discount music places and even storage auctions to find a drum set.  We finally found one and brought it home.  We set it up, not easy, and started our journey into the drums.  Beat after beat, we learned, and we were sore from playing.  Our hands hurt, our wrists hurt, but we kept on playing until both of us could do drum rolls and keep timing pretty good.  Timing is very hard, and to hit a drum the same way every time is hard.  Years later, we can drum. We can drum together, we can drum to record and the TV and all the while we are learning.  Julie’s knees are holding up and we even lost some weight.  Isn’t it funny how things can turn in your life if you want them to?  Ste. Foy storage we wish you good luck.
