Sometimes in the grieving process it may seem easier to shut things out and deal with them later. However, later comes and it can seem that when it does it opens those wounds again and all of that pain comes back. This is what Nina was dealing with at the moment. Her grandparents had raised her and she thought of them as more of her parents than her grandparents. Her grandfather had passed away when she was in college and Nina and her grandma had dealt with it the best that they could. Last year however when her grandmother had passes away Nina felt like for the first time she was truly alone in life. She had no family to help her deal with anything and she had to deal with the arrangements and everything on her own.

At the time she could not imagine going through her grandparents house and had simply boxed up everything that there was in the house and moved all of the furniture and boxes into a Parkview Hill, Ontario self storage unit to deal with later. She had not been there since the day she moved in the last box and shut the door on the storage unit and locked it up tight. She had grieved over the past year and knew that in order to completely heal she had to finally take care of the stuff that was in the Parkview Hill self storage unit.

When Nina opened the door for the first time in over a year she was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff that was stored there. It seemed like a monumental task that she was not prepared for but she had to do this. She was the only one who could get this done and it had to be done. She started with the box that was closest to her and decided that she would take it box by box.

Some things were just trash and she took those items down to the dumpster at the Parkview Hill self storage facility. Other things like clothing and stuff that had no sentimental value to Nina was boxed up in new boxes to head to a local donation center. Then there were other items that had extreme value to Nina and make it hard to painful to deal with because of how much it made her miss her grandparents. These items she boxed up and placed in her car to take to her house and from there she was going to decide what to do with the stuff that she wanted to keep.

It took several trips, and more than a few tears were shed but when the last box was sorted through Nina looked around the Parkview Hill storage unit and felt a sense of relief that she had finally gotten the task done. It was no longer hanging in the back of her mind as a reminder that she needed to take care of it.

The boxes that were taken home of stuff that she wanted to keep she decided to keep a few of the things in her house that were special to her and the rest she decided to keep in a much smaller Parkview Hill self storage unit that she had rented to give herself more storage space. Nina was healing and she felt good for the first time in a year.
