Now already you can tell I am from the United States of America because I talk in feet not using the metric system.  It if funny though, that a long time when I was a kid in school, there was a lot of talk of switching over to the metric system because it was easier than our English system, and most of the rest of the world uses the metric system.  Science uses the metric system and the teachers and the American government thought we should switch over.  They tried to teach the metric system to us young kids for about two weeks, but we did not do so well.  I struggled too though, because even though it seems using the metric system would be easier all those zeros were a little confusing if one never worked with it before.

Cap Rouge storage places in Quebec probably wonder when people from America come into their storage office and start talking about feet and inches, what they are talking about.  When we watch the Olympics on TV, we do learn a little bit more about the metric system.  A lot of our kids who run track, talk in metric numbers, as the events they run use them.  We have metric tools in the United States of America too, to work on things that use the metric system like cars and boats, from other places in the world.  Now, some say we are just stubborn in America, and we should have changed to the metric system a long time ago.  We think everything in America is better and we are always correct.  We are self-righteous and the beaming light of the world.  Americans who travel to other countries though, learn to have a different attitude of the world.  They still might think America is the greatest country in the world, but they have a different view now of the world.
