  • Find a New Style with the Help of a Storage Unit
    By jeff on March 10, 2011 | 236 Comments236 Comments Comments

Sarah was looking around her house and she realized that there were not many things that she had that were her style. Her dinning room table and china cabinet were her grandmothers and while they had a lot of sentimental value and fond memories of the many dinners that they had eaten at that table it was not something that she would buy if she was picking out her own dinning room set. The couch that was in her living room was from her parents. They had bought new furniture and saved the couch and love seat for her since she was planning on moving out. It was a good couch it was just not what she would have loved to have. The lamps in her living room were hand me downs. Sarah was realizing that not many things in her house were things that she picked out for herself and it was time to change that.

She was not going to able to do it all at one time but she was going to do each piece when she could afford it. The first thing that she found while shopping was a new dinning room set. She fell in love with a table and a buffet table and she used the money that she had saved to purchase it. The problem came however when she had to decide what to do with her grandmas table and china cabinet. It was such a part of her that she did not want to get rid of it. She began to look around at Marywood Meadows, Ontario self storage options that were available for her to be able to keep that part of her family history.

She found several different types of Marywood Meadows self storage and she was unsure which one would be the best for her so she really began to research the different types. She had never rented any type of self storage before so she was a little unsure of what she was looking for or what she ultimately needed, but she was determined to find it.

Thanks to her research Sarah was able to learn about Marywood Meadows self storage and she found the type and size of self storage that was right for her. She boxed up all of her grandmothers china that she had never use, and could never imagine using and had some of her friends help her move the dinning room set into storage and helped her move her new set into her house. Her dinning room looked amazing and she was already planning her first dinner party at the new table.

With one room now decorated in her style Sarah felt like she was on a roll. Next up she was able to find a living room set and lamps that she absolutely fell in love with and now her living room was a reflection of her style and not just some convenient hand me downs. When she came home at night from work she loved looking at her new rooms and she felt like she could even relax a little bit more now that she was surrounded by her things and it really felt like her own space now. She was also having a lot of fun redecorating and rearranging each room. It was like a whole new house for her.

  • Protect Important Papers with Self Storage
    By jeff on February 4, 2011 | 386 Comments386 Comments Comments

Despite the ever evolving computer age that seems to be taking over all aspects of society, much of who we are still exists on paper.  Birth certificates, marriage licenses, deeds, stock and bond certificates, health records, insurance policies and last wills and testaments are just a few of the vitally important documents you’ll receive as part of your personal life.  Business owners can add operating licenses, banking records, leases and corporate tax records to the mix.

Those are just the legal documents you want and need to keep safe.  Can any value be placed on you’re the artwork your child made for you while in kindergarten?  Your grandparents’ wedding photos?  Your high school and/or college diploma and degrees?  Your high school yearbook?  Pictures from your senior prom or the program from the school play you starred in?

You need a place where you can keep these items safe.  Safe deposit boxes are an option, but if the owner of a box were to pass away suddenly, the bank will often freeze access to the box immediately (and thusly necessitating a lot of time, effort and potentially legal fees before you can get to the contents therein).  Agincourt, Ontario self storage is a more convenient option for many when storing precious documents.  Here are a few tips to keep your records safe:

    • Do your homework in finding an Agincourt self storage company.  The cheapest price may not be the best solution.  You want to use a company that takes security seriously (e.g. video surveillance, gated access to the property, etc.) and can offer your documents the protection of climate controlled storage.
    • Renting a climate controlled unit is vital.  Fluctuating temperatures and humidity can destroy printed materials.
    • Store your documents in locked, fireproof boxes or safes.  No one ever plans on a fire, but being prepared for one will ensure your documents are always kept safe.  If you don’t use fireproof boxes, store your records in airtight, waterproof plastic crates.  Use the same brand and size crate every time to make for easier stacking.
    • If you’re storing a large amount of records (if you’re a business owner for instance), properly sorting and labeling the boxes will ensure you can find what you need with no problem.  If you’re stacking a large number of file boxes, stacking them oldest to newest will keep those records you are mostly likely to go back for reference more easily accessible.
    • When filing boxes, do not use newspaper as packing material.  The print can transfer from the newspaper to any surface it’s touching over time.
    • All boxes should be raised off the ground.  Wooden pallets are the easiest way to accomplish this.
    • Making hard copy and digital backups of all your most essential records will provide you a safety net in case the worst case scenarios come to pass.

Our lives exist in ways much more tangible than digital data on a computer.  Keeping these records safe will protect you and your property, and save you the tedious burdens that go with trying to replace any of these nearly “irreplaceable” records.  Trust Agincourt self storage to provide the ideal storage solution for your important documents.

  • Come in From the Cold with Heated Self Storage
    By jeff on January 27, 2011 | 326 Comments326 Comments Comments

Saint Hubert storage places in Quebec, Canada are cold.  St. Hubert storage places are cold.  We said that twice, but we are from Texas and on a business trip to see storage places in Canada and specifically Quebec.  We buy and sell storage facilities around the world.  We have made money doing it, and would like to thank all the people and all our customers for wanting to store things.  They store everything.  They store cars and boats and skis and everything in between.  Do they store the same things in Quebec?  It is so cold here we have changed our clothes a few times today.  We run back to the hotel and shiver out of the wet snowy clothes, and stick new warm ones on.  We have worn cowboy boots before, but these snow boots are different.  We can put them on pretty fast, but they seem clumsy to walk in.  We have not fallen yet, so we guess the traction on them is good as we wander around from place to place.  There is so much snow here it blows our minds.  In Texas, we see snow once in a great while and everyone freaks out when they see it.  It snowed in Houston, Texas a few times, and while in collage, it snowed in Huntsville, Texas.

Sam Houston State University is in Huntsville, Texas.  It is not in Saint Hubert storage or in Quebec, Canada.  Now, yes, we know that it might be cold in Quebec, and full of snow, ice, hockey, and whatever else.  We know this.  We play hockey in Houston, Texas too you know.  It is not the National Hockey League, no, but a league just under it.  We pay less for the tickets than you do for your beloved NHL games.  We know everyone in Canada has heard of the Dallas Stars right?  They won a Stanley Cup with Bobby Hull’s son right?  Houston Areos, a team from a while back, had Gordie Howe on it and his three sons.  They all played together in the WHA which stands for World Hockey Association.  How can you not like that people and lovers of hockey?  Texas had Gordie Howe on its team.  We met him once in a grocery store on Voss road in Houston, Texas.

Saint Hubert storage places have never had a star and hall of famer like Gordie Howe in their midst.  Well, we do not think so anyway.  Maybe hockey should be played in the cold after all.  Not baseball though.  It hurts your hands.  Do people play baseball in Canada?  We used to try to baseball in the winter in Houston, Texas, buy we did not last long.  We hope we last longer here in the cold in Quebec, Canada at a Saint Hubert storage place we are going to visit today.  The car is cold and our fingers are cold.  We will stop for gloves now.  Yes, they have winter clothes in Texas too.  Dallas gets ice storms but do not, repeat, do not, drive in ice storms in Dallas, Texas.  They seem to be not able to slow down in ice.  The truck drivers, we mean pick up trucks, do not slow down.  They slip and slide on the many bridges in Dallas, Texas.

  • Preparing for Winter with Self Storage
    By jeff on January 25, 2011 | 383 Comments383 Comments Comments

Anjou storage places in Quebec are growing.  Quebec is a great place to live if you do not mind cold weather and snow.  Today, in central Missouri, it is snowing and there is ten inches of snow on the ground.  It was zero degrees today and the cars struggled to start.  School was cancelled for the kids, my son was very happy, and all was well for us.  A lot of people like snow, and a lot of kids love snow.  If you wear the right clothes and do not be brave or just silly, the snow can be great fun.  We went sledding the other day at a nearby park with big hills and all the kids loved it.  We took a try or two and it brought back great memories when this writer was kid sledding.  Snow can scare some people.  In the United States of America, a lot of people will not live in the Northern part of America.  People in the south think thirty degrees Fahrenheit is too cold.

We do think they would like to move to Quebec and store their stuff in an Anjou storage facility.  Though t is easier to go out of your house when the temperature is warm outside most of the year.  A lot of people feel four seasons is better for your mind or your emotions.  One can look forward to when summer comes, when winter ends, and fall and spring bring their own thoughts and emotions.  We prefer four seasons in our household most of the time.  Even today, the son and this writer went outside for a short while, shoveled a bit, and took the sled down our small hill on the side of our house.  We wear a lot of clothes.  This writer wears two shirts and a winter coat with a hood on it.  The son wears snow pants, two shirts and boots.  We both wear gloves and hats too.  Maybe we would like working at an Anjou storage place in Quebec, Canada.  We do not speak French though.  We can barley speak English sometimes we like to tease ourselves.  This person learned German a little while living in Germany, but not fluent in it by any stretch of the imagination.  When one gets older, it is harder to learn a new language the experts say.  Our brains are not sponges anymore.  The son loves the snow, so Quebec would be exciting for him.  We would make it we are guessing.  We have read a few things about Quebec and they sound good.  Montreal is a well–known city, we saw an actor filming a movie there on TV, and he said it was a beautiful city.  It is a very famous city of course, and a lot of French is going on out there, only second to Paris, France.

If we did move to Quebec and stored all our stuff in an Anjou storage facility, we are sure we would take our sled down the biggest hill we could find, and feel we belong.  Winter can be a state of mind too you know.  You’ve got to be ready for it.  We are ready for it.  We can vacation there some day maybe and sled our little hearts out.  Why not?  Good luck to every one.

  • What Could You Do With An Empty Room?
By admin on May 7, 2010 | Comments Off Comments

When you think about self storage units, chances are that you are simply thinking about empty rooms.  Really, no one can blame you.  Renting a self storage unit is, in essence, renting an empty room.  But for once, reader, allow yourself to see the proverbial glass as half full.  Allow yourself, here, to entertain the genuine variety of ways in which you can put your self storage unit to use.  Sure, you can simply fill it up with your miscellaneous items and your spare furniture, but there are a whole bunch of ways in which you can actually have fun with your self storage unit.

This is going to sound odd, reader, but hear me out.  In the past, I have heard of several self storage tenants who have used their units for a little bit of peace and quiet.  I will be the first to admit that a ten by ten with nothing more than an easy chair inside of it can look a little bit odd at first.  But really, when you really get to thinking about it, these tenants come across as genuine geniuses.  Perhaps the self storage property is close to where they work, and they simply drop by during their lunch breaks to kick back and relax.  Perhaps they live with noisy roommates, and they need a peaceful, quiet room to get some thinking done.  Either way, they have taken it upon themselves to find a solution to their problem, and they have.  And such a creative one, too.

Perhaps you are not in need of a quiet place to get your thinking done.  Perhaps you are in need of the exact opposite, a place where you and your band can practice your tunes.  Of course, self storage units have been used for this as well.  The only thing that you are going to have to keep in mind when you are looking for a practice space is that your local property managers have to adhere to the noise ordinances of their specific area.  They may not allow band practice if they are located in a residential district.  You can narrow your search, though, by making sure that you are only calling self storage facilities that are not located in residential districts.  This will guarantee that you are not wasting too much of your breath on the phone, calling places that are never going to let you use your unit in the way that you would like to.

But perhaps you do not need a place to practice your tunes.  Perhaps, here, you are looking for a place where you can practice your hobby.  Know, reader, that self storage rooms truly make for great workshops.  Most of them are going to have lights and outlets, meaning that you are going to be able to use your tools and work at night.  This, of course, is not to mention that most of your local facilities are going to have garage size units, meaning that you are never going to have to worry about running out of space.  Truly, a self storage unit is a great thing to have when you want to practice your hobby.

No matter what you are into, you are going to be able to find a self storage unit that is perfect for your needs.  And really, weird needs are needs all the same.  Do not be shy as you are calling your local properties.  Simply tell them what you are looking for, and they will let you know if their property will suffice.  Take it from an industry insider, reader.  No needs are too weird to accommodate.

  • Take A Peek Inside Self Storage
    By admin on May 23, 2009 | 548 Comments548 Comments Comments

In order for you to make sure that you are making a wise decision, you are going to have to make sure that you get a look inside self storage before you commit yourself to a particular unit. Indeed, without showing up for a site tour and seeing your potential unit in person, you are not going to know whether or not it is going to keep all of your belongings safe. Of course, it is not hard to figure out whether or a not a unit is going to work for you, granted that you are willing to set the time aside to look inside store rooms that you are considering.

First and foremost, here, you are going to want to check to make sure that there is air conditioning inside store rooms that you are considering. While not all items are going to damaged by a standard unit, the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of you needing a unit that is going to have its temperature constant throughout the year. You should know, here, that many items do stand to be damaged by the weather. Leather, of course, is always going to be damaged by a standard unit, as it tents to expand, contract, rip, and tear throughout the course of a year. Wooden items are every bit as bad as leather items, as they tend to warp, buckle, and break very easily. Musical instruments, of course, are going to develop some problems when they are stored in standard units, as they are typically extremely sensitive to changes in the temperature and humidity. Of course, antiques are not to be stored in standard units , as they are going to need to be treated with care if they are going to live any longer.

Of course, you are going to need to look inside store rooms that you are considering to make sure that it is nice and clean. Indeed, there is no cause to rent a space that is only going to make your belongings dirty and worthless. If, as you are looking inside self storage , you see any large oil patches, dirt, or the like, you are going to want to move on to a new property entirely. Quite obviously, the one that you are visiting does not care enough about its customers to keep its units clean.

Finally, here, you are going to need to look inside store rooms units that you are considering to make sure that they are going to keep your belongings safe. If, as you are taking your tours, you do not feel that a site has enough security to keep your belongings safe, then you are certainly going to want to find a better option. Without video surveillance, door alarms, an access controlled gate, fencing, lighting, and great locks, you are not going to be able to rest assured that your belongings are safe. Be sure that you are keeping an eye open for these features, as they are absolutely essential.

When it comes down to getting a peek inside self storage places, you had better make sure that you know what to look for. Hopefully, though, this article has given you all of the training that you are going to need in order to become an expert, well qualified shopper.

  • What Customers Want Inside Self Storage
    By admin on May 16, 2009 | 989 Comments989 Comments Comments

What matters inside self storage is ensuring and safekeeping. It is the quality of service that a warehouse company provides that makes it better known than others. In these days of extremely competitive markets, customers have various options for storing and safekeeping places. They look for the best facilities at the least cost. Hence the focus of any storehouse owner should be to provide the best facilities and at the same time ensure they offer services at reasonable rates. This may sound contradictory but as in any business you have some incompatible requirements. You have to find an optimum solution which takes care of both.

Let us take a look at the facilities customers want inside storing spaces. Some of the important facilities are

    Store Unit

The first thing that the customer wants is a store unit size closest to his or her requirement. So if a warehouse owner can offer store units of different sizes, it will be a plus point. Moreover, the store unit should be clean and dry. Facilities like temperature and humidity controlled units are required to store moisture and temperature sensitive goods like books, documents, wine, electronics, etc. Some customers want to keep their belongings only in temperature and humidity controlled store units. Hence, it is a good idea to have climate controlled units inside self storage .

    Security Features

Every customer wants to store his or her goods at a safe and secure place. In order to meet this important requirement of customers, the storeowners need to have various safety measures in place. Storehouses can use several safety measures starting from the basic safety measures like lock and key, security guards and high walls, to the high tech security measures like CCTV cameras, swipe cards, and biometric locks. What security features you will install inside self storage to meet this important requirement depends on your choice and budget and the kind of stuff that the customers store at your warehouse.

    Packing And Moving Services

Customers not only expect the warehouse to be safe for storing their goods. They also expect the storehouse to provide all relevant packing supplies and help them in packing and moving the goods from their house to the store unit. Goods that are properly packed and labeled are not only easy to store and identify, but also safe from damage due to mishandling. Customers also need facilities for movement of goods within cargo space unit. This could be in the form of moving carts or helpers that help the customers move their goods.

    Customer Service

Last but not the least, every customer desires good customer service. Actually speaking, the response of your customer service executives can decide the future of your business. Customers always want to be treated with respect. They want their queries answered satisfactorily at the earliest. Your staff should be well trained to handle different kinds of customer queries and situations.

In short, what is inside self storage will decide whether your warehouse centre will be able to consistently attract and retain customers. This will largely depend upon how well you meet the needs of your customers and whether they find your services of good value for the money you charge them. Remember, it is very important to retain clientele as otherwise the business can never grow. Hence, make sure that you provide high quality services and are a step ahead of your competition.
