When you are looking for a storage space, it is not helpful to call up and just ask for price and get mad when the person on the phone does not just start shouting out prices. There are going to be other factors that you will want to consider. The price will only tell you how much your unit cost. Where as what you are getting for the price is far more important. You can look up prices online with some companies but people still call and talk to the manager. Subconsciously they are thinking in their heads that they want to hear what else they are getting for the price.

The size is the first thing that the manager will need to know in order to quote you a proper size. They will and should ask you what you are thinking about storing. If they do not ask you this question, you should bring it up. You can ask for the price all you want to, but you if you have narrowed down a size it does not matter. Let’s make it this simple. A price is associated with a size. No manager just wants to go down their price list and tell you everything they have. They want to narrow something down for the customer so they can find the right solution for them.

A small space may be around 50 dollars while a big space could be 300 dollars. You do not want to spend any more money than you need to. There are people that will call a property manager and say to them that they want the average space or the middle space. Some manager will just go right into them needing the 100 square foot space that is most common. Again they have to ask the customer questions to ensure that that is the right size for them. As a manager it is important for you to find the right solution for the customer, not just go whatever the customer says. The customer sometimes does not know what is right for them.

While on the phone the other day, I helped give a young woman some advice on looking for the best storage facility. She claimed that she had been looking for quite some time but she would always get confused because everyone had something different to offer or someone had the same features to offer her. I advised her on the following things to look for when looking for a top notch facility.

Make sure the facility has the space or unit you are looking for. If you are looking for a parking space, then you should not attempt to go with a facility who does not offer a parking space for your needs. If you are looking for a space for your two bedroom apartment, ensure they are going to have a space that can fit everything inside without being too big. You do not want to pay for more space than you need. When looking for the right facility for you, make sure they have the space you are looking for because otherwise renting there is pointless.

Do not always shop for the lowest price because you will be disappointed. Most of the time a facility that has the lowest price tends to be lacking in other areas. If they are able to give you pricing that is far below the pricing of everyone else that you are looking at then they are not as nice of a property. Typically what you will find from a very low cost facility is that they are lacking in security, convenient features and also sometimes customer service. When you are storing your belongings, you want to ensure those belongings are safe. The more things in between the general public and your belongings, the better. Look for a gated community, door alarms, surveillance cameras and sometimes even inside storage. The more questions you ask about the facility, the better.

Is the facility close to you? You do not want to go too far to get to your belongings. If you are the kind of person that will need to visit their facility a couple of times a week or in a two week period, then you most likely want a space that is close to you. There are some local self storage facilities in your area that are close to your home or your work. Seek them out and you can save some time, money and also gas.

Is the facility honest, and seem to be who they say they are? No one likes to be lied to. If you feel that the place you are attempting to store is being dishonest, then you should not store there. The manager at the store should be very truthful to you and help you out to their best ability. If they quote you a price over the phone then give a different price when you come in, you should turn around and leave. Do not rent from a dishonest facility.

Finally, I told her to make sure to always remember that during the summer months, storage is in its highest demand. If a facility has a lot of available units, or a very cheap rate, it is usually because they are left trying to fill their facilities. When storage facilities have many vacancies they become desperate to rent them. Ensure that you are not fooled by a facility that is not up to your standards.

What do you think is the number one thing that customers are looking for when they are searching around for a Southcrest Estates, Ontario self storage unit? What makes your customers choose your self storage location over others? Many renters do their homework before renting a self storage space, and what is it that they are looking for?

Many people would assume that when people search out a Southcrest Estates self storage location that they look first and foremost at price. Price is important because your customers are looking at their budgets and deciding on how much they can allocate to spend each month on a self storage unit. In their search for additional storage they are not looking for something that is going to break their piggy bank or be a financial hardship. Customers also look for a great value for their money. So is it price point that customers are looking at the most?

When researching the different Southcrest Estates storage facilities many customers look at the physical location of the units. Are they in the same neighborhood as their home or do they have to travel across town to get to their self storage unit? For some customers location is important if they need regular access to their possessions that are in storage. For others they may not need access on any type of regular basis and can look at locations a little farther out than they would consider if they needed to go there consistently. So when pricking which of the storage facilities they wish to store with is location their main focal point?

While it is not considered wise to store valuables in your self storage units customers also do not want what they have stored away in their Southcrest Estates self storage unit to be taken or stolen. When looking for a self storage unit customers want to know that there are security measures in place to ensure that when they put stuff in storage and return their stuff will still be in storage where they left it. Renters of self storage look for safety and security features such as gate controlled access and or video surveillance. But, is this the most important feature to renters?

While these are all good areas to look at when considering what draws a customer to one particular Southcrest Estates storage facility over another, it is also important to consider a more humanistic approach. If a customer find a self storage facility that has the location, price point, and security they want but are greeted with a rude or unfriendly staff they may consider that the location they though that was perfect for them, is indeed no longer the one that they want. If they have questions but the staff treats them as a hassle to be helping them or is not willing to help answer any questions that they may have then no matter how great the location is to them they will more than likely consider the other options that are available to them. Customers are looking for great customer service from the company that they are choosing to rent with.

All of these things make for a place where customers can be assured that they are getting the best in self storage to help them solve their need for storage space.

If you rent Downsview storage units there will be some additional costs that are associated with the initial move in. Some shoppers in Ontario may think that the property is just trying to take their money by adding unnecessary charges, but this is usually not the case. In fact, most sites offer Downsview storage units with great move in specials with no commitment, so they just need to make sure to cover the basic costs of getting you set up. Some companies may charge you aggressively on the move in, but most are pretty fair.

The first thing that you will need to do when renting Downsview storage units is put a lock on the door. If you have stored in Ontario before, you may already have a lock that you can just put on the unit. You can bring your lock with you when you come in to sign for the space. Make sure to put the lock on the unit right away even if you do not plan on moving your things in right away. If you do not put your lock on your storage unit when you rent it, you may return a few days later to move in only to discover another lock on the space. The facility will put locks on all of the units to make sure that nobody tries to break in to the space.

Even if you do have your own lock, you may want to look at some of the locks that are available at the facility. The padlocks with be nice for those who just want to meet the requirement for a lock, but there are better locks. The cylinder locks are great, but will not work on all Downsview storage units so you want to make sure that it will work before you buy it. A cylinder lock actually fits into the door and offer great protection from any intruders. They are usually about ten to twenty dollars at most facilities. The disc locks are the king of the padlock style locks. They are round and almost impossible to cut. They are also about twenty dollars or so depending on the lock.

The admin fee is applied when someone rents Downsview storage units at most every location in the area. Only about five percent of facilities do not have an admin fee and they usually will add it somewhere else so you are still paying it in some fashion. The admin fee is there to cover the paperwork costs of getting you set up with your storage facility. It will cost only about twenty dollars and it is a one time fee.

You will also want to consider an insurance or coverage plan to protect your belongings while you have storage. The site will almost always offer insurance for you to sign up for. The plans are pretty reasonable and will give you peace of mind that your things are covered just in case. The deposit has almost faded completely from the storage industry. There are still a few sites that may require a deposit. It may be your last months rent. Cleaning deposits are only about twenty dollars and are refundable at move out. They are there to just make sure that tenants clean out their space when they are done with storage.

It is by no way easy to figure out if you want to pay for something that you feel you do not really need. When it comes to the different wants that you have, you have to some times convince yourself if it is worth it. That is an easy decision to make when it comes to the wants. When you come across the different needs that you have, the decision gets a lot tougher. It gets tougher because you have to now figure out if you can afford to make the payment. You have to determine how you are going to give the Quebec storage manager enough money to protect the belongings you are storing. Luckly for you some Quebec storage facilities offer some kind of move in special for you.

Now there is never a guarantee that the facility will have a move in special for you. There are many times in which a person will call a Quebec storage manager and specifically ask them if they have special to get moved in. Even if the manager does have a great move in special, that is sometimes not enough for the customer. Getting moved in is great enough to get moved in but some customers are looking for what else they can get for the rest of the time they will be storing. The move in cost is a great start, but most people realized that the rest of the months could be difficult for them.

So what some managers are encountering is that they can get a customer moved in for practically nothing out of their pocket and the customer will respond with are there any other specials? It is for sure that the manager on site at the Quebec storage facility is thinking, what else could they possibly want? It is completely mind boggling when the customer lets the manager know that they are only storing for a month maybe two. So if they are not staying very long, why are they looking for a better deal. The manager basically gave them two months for the price of one.

It is a very difficult world we live in. It is harder and harder for some facilities to entice the customer to come in through their doors. They believe that their special price will get them to come rent, but that will not always be the case. What else can you offer the customer in terms of specials?

Shopping around for a self storage unit is a real commitment, but moving is an even bigger commitment. Indeed, when you decide to move from one home to another, you know that you are going to have a genuine mountain of chores to tackle in the coming weeks. Whether you are renting or whether you are buying, you are going to have to be sure that you know what you are doing. Fortunately, if you do a little bit of research and prepare yourself for what lies ahead, then you are never going to have to worry about forgetting anything important. Just pay attention to this article as you are making your way through, and you are going to find that you can move just fine, and without much stress at all.

The first thing that you are going to want to do, here, is make sure that you have your self storage situation figured out. If, for example, you know that there is going to be a gap in between your living situations, then you are going to have to be sure that you have a nice, safe place to keep all of your furniture in the meantime. This, of course, means that you are going to have to do a little bit of research to find the self storage company that is going to work out the best for you. Call around to all of your local providers, gather some prices, and make your decision in these regards.

Second of all, reader, you are going to have to be sure that you have a nice and safe way to pack all of your belongings. In order to do this, of course, you are going to have to call around to some of your local self storage providers and get some rates on their moving and packing supplies. If you are going to have a considerable number of smaller items, then you are going to have to be sure that you are packing them up in all of the right boxes. Likewise, you are going to have to be sure that you are securing them with an ample amount of bubble wrap, packing paper, and the like. If you do not take the time to pack your belongings carefully, then you are going to be sorry when you arrive at your self storage unit.

Finally, reader, you are also going to have to be sure that you are finding yourself the right kind of truck. You are not going to want to use your standard vehicle, here, as you are going to end up wasting a ton of time commuting in between your home and your self storage unit. Rather, you are going to want to be sure that you rent a giant moving truck so that you can take care of all of your belongings in one go. While you may have to spend a little bit of extra money on your moving truck, you are going to be glad that you did.

Truly, reader, if you put some thought into it, then you are never going to have to worry about moving your home. Sure, it is going to be time consuming, and sure, there are going to be quite a few chores that you are going to have to take care of as you are getting ready for your new home. Really, though, as long as you are putting some thought into your moving process, you are not going to have to worry about a thing when the moving day finally rolls around. You will be ready for the challenge.

Let us face it, reader. Shopping around for a self storage unit can be a real pain if you have never done it before. There are tons of facilities in your area, right? And, from a very distant glance, many of these facilities are going to look the same. Of course, once you begin to get your feet wet, i.e. once you begin to shop around and take site tours, you are going to realize that these sites are actually radically different. In order to make sure that you are taking care of yourself as best you can, you are going to have to be sure that you are shopping around with an eye for the features that really, truly matter when it comes to keeping your belongings safe. If you can keep a few things in mind as you are shopping around, then you are going to find that there are no major obstacles to overcome by the time that you sign your paper. Collected, here, are a few bits of advice that you are going to want to keep in mind.

First and foremost, reader, understand that you are going to have to keep your eyes open for all of the services that you are going to need. Many self storage facilities are going to be able to help you consolidate some of your chores, and that is really going to cut down on the stress that experience when your final moments start rolling in. Before you agree to rent your unit from any particular facility, then, you are going to want to be sure that they can hook you up with a moving truck of some sort. Indeed, if you are not planning on renting a truck, then you are going to want to drastically rethink your approach. Sure, you might be able to make it to your self storage property in your standard vehicle if you are willing to stuff it to the brim and place your belongings at risk. By renting a moving truck, though, you can virtually guarantee that you are not going to run into any major problems. You can safely load all of your items, and you are not going to have to worry about breaking them while you are on the road.

You are also going to want to ask your self storage facility if it can offer you any other moving services. If, for example, you know that you are not going to have enough muscle to load up your own truck and self storage unit, then you are going to want to be sure that you are hiring some extra hands. If your self storage facility can provide you with a crew of movers, then you are going to know that you are not going to have to call around frantically at the last minute, pestering your friends and family for help. Of course, before you accept the help of the movers, you have to be sure that they are covered by their own insurance, as they might very well sue you if they are uninsured and they end up hurting themselves.

When you are trying to simply trying to organize your move in the least stressful way, it becomes increasingly important that you plan ahead and make sure that you are consolidating as many chores as possible. While it may be easy to overlook the details in the heat of the moment, you have to be sure that you are not shooting yourself in the foot at the end of the day. That is the true name of the game, here.

If you are shopping around for the ideal self storage unit, then you are not alone. Self storage is one of the most popular services that you are ever going to encounter. Of course, just because it is popular does not mean that you are going to be able to rent your unit without giving any thought to what you want or need. In fact, you are going to want to be sure that you are at least a little bit fastidious when it comes to keeping your belongings stored in the correct type of unit. And yes, there are different types of units. If you have never shopped around for a self storage unit before, then you are going to want to take their various types into account before you make your final decision.

First and foremost, here, you are going to want to be sure that you are keeping all of your temperature sensitive belongings in a climate controlled self storage unit. Sure, you may think that a standard unit is going to be able to do the job, but sometimes, that simply is not the case. Certain items are going to call for a climate controlled self storage unit if you really want to be sure that they are not going to be harmed during their stay.

First off, you are going to want to be sure that you are renting a climate controlled self storage unit for all of your wooden musical instruments. If you have ever played your music when your instrument is out of tune, then you can imagine how terrible it would be if your instrument was never in proper tune. Storing your instruments in rooms that do not regulate temperature and humidity is just like storing them in your back yard. They are not going to fare very well in the long run. Given how expensive instruments typically are, you should not have a hard time when it comes to justifying a few extra dollars per month.

Moving on, here, you are going to want to be sure that you are renting climate controlled self storage units for all of your antiques and electronics. These items, as you might very well guess, are not going to fare too well in a standard unit. Typically speaking, antiques require a cool, humidity controlled environment to prevent their deterioration. If you are serious about keeping your antiques around for future generations to enjoy, then you are going to have to be sure that you are keeping them in a nice, cool environment. Of course, the same can be said about electronics. If you do not store your electronics in a cool, dry place, then you are really placing them at risk.

Finally, here, you are going to want to be sure that you are storing your clothing in a climate controlled environment. Sure, your clothes are not going to break if you store them in a standard unit. What they will do, however, is develop an odor. Typically speaking, when you store your clothes in a standard unit, they end up smelling very funny by the end of your stay. If you care a lot about your clothing, then you are going to have to be sure that you rent yourself a climate controlled self storage space to keep it nice and safe.

So, at the end of the day, it is not all that hard for you to keep your belongings safe if you understand the options that are at your disposal. If you have never done so before, simply take a brief inventory of the items that you are going to be storing and figure out whether or not you are going to need to make special accommodations for them.

There are a lot of reasons that you may need to store your items at a facility for a brief period of time. Some of them may be good but also some of them may be bad. It is always worth your time to call around and get an idea of Ottawa storage prices in your area. It may take a little bit of time and energy on your part but it could definitely pay off for you in the sense that you could potentially save a lot of money by shopping around a little bit. This would be especially true if you are planning on staying for a long period of time or if you do not plan on it but end up staying a long time. You can see that a savings of ten dollars a month can really add up over time. Saving money is just as good as making money and bartering is definitely ingrained in our culture.

Some people think that self storage prices do not change that much throughout the same town or city and would compare this to how gas prices work. This is not necessarily true and the prices could change depending on the location. If a location is in a good part of town then the space would probably cost more than a location in a really rough part of town. If you are storing stuff that you do not care about then you may want to gamble and roll the dice and go with the location where you could save a little bit of money. Just do not be surprised if you never see your stuff ever again or at least not in the same condition. Storing at a bad location could result in your things getting destroyed by mold or pests when if you pay a bit higher self storage prices you may not have to worry about these things. It is always good to remember that you get what you pay for. Neglected businesses usually are not just being generous and are probably cutting corners in areas where you may not want them to, such as security.

It is hard to get a good idea of how a facility actually looks and if you are going to get everything that you want out of it by simply talking to them over the phone. After you call around and get Pickering storage prices from all the convenient locations around you, the next step would be to actually visit the property and check it out for yourself. Someone that you talk to over the phone may just happen to be a good salesperson and, while first impressions are everything, the lasting impression will be the safety of your items. On the opposite end of the spectrum some of the best managers that run a pretty tight ship may have everything that you are looking for but may be very bad at being personable over the phone. They may not be good at justifying the self storage prices for their facility over the phone but you will definitely be able to get a better idea of what they have to offer by simply visiting the facility and seeing everything with your own eyes.

The important thing is to consider price and get quotes over the phone, but make short list and visit two or three facilities to ease your mind.
